About Me.

Hey! My name is Emilian Stanev. I graduated with a bachelors in Economics from the University of Georgia. Although I loved Econ, I always had a passion for Video Production. Initially it was only a hobby, until I started my career at Hi-Rez Studios as a Video Editor. My initial responsibilities were to keep the existing SMITE pipeline running smoothly and to advance the visual standard.

 

I also scheduled playtests to capture any footage required for character reveals. As the team grew, an internal Cinematics Department was created and I was asked to join. I am glad I didn't hesitate! One of my many tasks was to R&D VFX for Cinematics and raise the bar. As the team expanded, I began researching VFX and heavily utilized 3ds Max, FumeFx, Krakatoa, Maya, Bi-Frost, and Houdini.

 

Having the opportunity to join a cinematic department at the start gave me a great opportunity to learn, innovate, and expand my knowledge skillset in ways I would have never expected!
